Rong May Glass Bridge to resume operations in Lai Chau
The Rong May Glass Bridge tourist area in Lai Chau province is set to resume normal operations on October 1, 2026. Hoang Lien Son Group, the project developer, announced the reopening following a period of uncertainty regarding safety concerns.
The company had previously expressed concerns that construction on the nearby Garden of Eden project could jeopardize the safety of staff, visitors, and property at the glass bridge site. In response to these concerns, Lai Chau provincial authorities formed an interdisciplinary inspection team to review legal compliance and assess the impact of the adjacent construction.
Currently, construction on the neighboring project has been temporarily suspended, and the developer states that safety at the Rong May Glass Bridge is temporarily secured. The resumption of activities aims to maintain local employment for approximately 300 workers and prevent further disruption to international and domestic travel itineraries. The glass bridge, which sits at an altitude of 2,200 meters, represents an investment of over 1,000 billion VND and attracts roughly 300,000 visitors annually.
