Seven-time world champion Ronnie O'Sullivan advanced to the last 32 with a 5-2 win over Ashley Carty. World No. 1 Judd Trump also started his campaign strongly, taking a 2-0 lead against China's Yuan Sijun following a 92-point break in the opening frame. The tournament features a total prize pool of £825,000, with the champion set to receive £175,000.
