Ronnie O’Sullivan considers retirement due to technical struggles

Seven-time world snooker champion Ronnie O’Sullivan has indicated he may retire following the 2028 World Championship if he cannot resolve technical issues with his game. Despite recently turning 50, O’Sullivan continues to compete at a high level, most recently reaching the quarter-finals of the Wuhan Open after defeating Stephen Maguire.

However, the player expressed significant frustration with his current form, describing his performance as “hit-and-hope snooker” and stating that his technique is currently “rubbish.” O’Sullivan noted that while he is pleased to have won three matches in Wuhan, he does not believe he has a realistic chance of winning the tournament, citing a lack of control over where the balls are going.

O’Sullivan has reportedly considered advice from legends Steve Davis and Stephen Hendry regarding retirement. He has given himself approximately 18 months to rediscover his peak form before making a final decision on his professional future.
