Ronny Simon hits first career home run for Pirates

Pittsburgh Pirates right fielder Ronny Simon hit his first career Major League home run during a 6-5 victory over the Kansas City Royals at PNC Park. The 26-year-old utility player hit a two-run shot in the second inning off Royals starter Noah Cameron, driving the ball 393 feet into the left-field corner.

Simon, who signed as an international free agent out of the Dominican Republic in 2018, has spent nearly a decade in the minor leagues and previously played in the Diamondbacks, Rays, and Marlins organizations.
