Esenyurt, Istanbul sees roof fires in multiple buildings, no injuries
On 8 June 2026, a fire broke out on the roof of a four‑storey building in Esenyurt's Örnek Mahallesi. Istanbul fire crews arrived promptly, extinguished the blaze and reported no injuries; only roof damage was noted and the cause remains under investigation.
A separate incident occurred on 9 June 2026 when welding work on a roof in Esenyurt's Pınar Mahallesi ignited a fire that, driven by strong winds, spread to the roofs of three additional nearby buildings. Firefighters contained the flames after about an hour, again with no casualties reported. Investigations into both fires have been launched.
