Roppongi Hills hosts inaugural ‘Third Coming-of-Age Ceremony’ for seniors
The HAPPY PROJECT Executive Committee held the inaugural ‘Third Coming-of-Age Ceremony | HAPPY SENIOR FESTA 2026’ at Roppongi Hills Hollywood University Hall on October 1, 2026, coinciding with International Day of Older Persons.
The event aims to establish a new culture that celebrates age 60 as a fresh starting point for the second half of life, encouraging seniors to pursue new dreams and leverage their life experiences for social contribution. During the ceremony, actor Ken Ishiguro was presented with a ‘Third Coming-of-Age Certificate’ as a representative of those reaching this milestone.
The program included a forum on the ‘100-Year Life Era’ and a ‘HAPPY CHALLENGE STAGE,’ where nine individuals aged 59 to 69 presented personal goals across categories such as dream realization, social activities, and business ventures. The event featured messages from representatives of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and local officials, emphasizing the importance of supporting senior challenges rather than merely evaluating them.
