Roraima launches research and entrepreneurship funding initiatives

Several initiatives have been launched in Roraima to support scientific research and entrepreneurship. The first edition of the Sebrae Economy Prize for Small Businesses is now open for applications, offering up to 15,000 Reais for the best research. The prize aims to encourage applied scientific production that contributes to the strengthening of micro and small enterprises (MSEs) and individual micro-entrepreneurs (MEIs). Applications are free and open until September 30.

Additionally, the Roraima Research Support Foundation (Faperr) has extended the deadline for its 'Mais Eventos, Mais Ciência' public call to August 28. This initiative provides up to 800,000 Reais to support scientific, technological, and innovation events held within the state. Funding is categorized by the scope of the event: international events can receive up to 100,000 Reais, national events up to 50,000 Reais, and local activities up to 25,000 Reais. The funds are intended to cover expenses such as travel, venue rental, and equipment.

These programs seek to bridge the gap between the academic community and the economic challenges faced by small businesses, which represent approximately 89% of active companies in Roraima.
