Roraima municipality completes 4.5 km road paving in Boa Vista

The Boa Vista city hall finished paving a 4.5‑kilometre stretch of Vicinal 5 (BVA‑151) in the Murupu area of the Nova Amazônia settlement project. The work included installing drainage pipes at key points to improve rainwater runoff and enhance pavement durability during the rainy season. Residents said the new surface eases daily travel, school transport and the movement of agricultural produce. One local farmer noted that the asphalt “changes our lives,” while a community pastor highlighted benefits for families, small‑scale producers and students. Since 2021, municipal authorities have recovered more than 290 km of rural roads across 53 sections and paved an additional 81 km in 13 other segments, aiming to provide safer, dust‑free, year‑round access for rural communities.
