Roraima prosecutor recommends Caroebe implement waste management fees

The Public Prosecutor's Office of Roraima (MPRR) has recommended that the municipality of Caroebe implement charges for urban solid waste management services. Currently, the city does not collect specific fees or tariffs to fund these operations, a fact confirmed by the local government. The municipality cited the lack of an updated real estate registry as the reason for not charging residents.

The MPRR stated that the absence of these charges could constitute a loss of revenue and emphasized that regularization is necessary to ensure the continuity, efficiency, and sustainability of waste management services. An administrative procedure has been opened to monitor the municipality's compliance with this recommendation.
