Roraima Public Defender launches free collective wedding for migrant couples
The Public Defender's Office of Roraima (DPE‑RR) announced the third edition of the free collective wedding program “Enfim, Casados! – Sem Fronteiras” for migrant and refugee couples in Boa Vista. A total of 120 slots will be offered, with an additional reserve list of 20 couples.
Registrations are open from 17 August to 4 September, 8 am‑2 pm, at the city’s 1st and 2nd Notary Offices. Eligible couples must have at least one partner who is an international migrant residing in Boa Vista, both partners must be over 16 years old, and must present required documents such as the National Migrant Registry (RNM), CPF, identification, certificates and proof of residence. For partners aged 16‑18, parental or legal guardian presence is mandatory, and two adult, literate witnesses are required.
The ceremony is scheduled for 23 October at 4 pm at a venue to be announced. Participants will receive a free marriage certificate, a religious blessing and professional photography. The initiative is coordinated with the itinerant court of the Roraima State Court of Justice and the local notary offices, aiming to remove civil‑status barriers for migrants.
