Rory Lobb reveals impact of severe school bullying

AFL veteran Rory Lobb has shared details regarding the severe bullying he experienced during his school years, which ultimately led him to leave school in year nine. In an interview on Channel 7’s Unfiltered, Lobb described the physical, verbal, and emotional abuse he endured at Governor Stirling Senior High School in Perth.

The abuse was so intense that Lobb was hospitalized multiple times, including an instance where he was knocked unconscious. He revealed that the situation caused him to experience suicidal thoughts, noting that he felt he was “very close to tipping over the edge.”

Lobb stated that the bullying extended beyond the school grounds to his football training sessions. His mother eventually decided to withdraw him from school to protect him from the ongoing torment.
