Rory McIlroy targets record at DP World Tour Championship in Dubai

Rory McIlroy has confirmed his return to the DP World Tour Championship at Jumeirah Golf Estates in Dubai, scheduled for November 12-15. The Northern Irishman is aiming to win his eighth Race to Dubai title, which would allow him to draw level with Colin Montgomerie’s record of eight Order of Merit titles.

McIlroy currently sits second in the Race to Dubai standings, trailing Patrick Reed. The 37-year-old has already reduced the gap to Reed following a joint-second finish at the BMW PGA Championship. McIlroy, a three-time winner of the DP World Tour Championship, expressed that matching Montgomerie’s achievement would be a “pretty special way to finish the season.”
