Rosa Chacel to name new Hortaleza municipal library

The new municipal public library in the Hortaleza district of Madrid will be named after Rosa Chacel, a prominent figure of 20th-century Spanish literature and a member of the Generation of '27. Located on Silvano Street, the facility is scheduled to open next year and will feature a catalog of approximately 20,000 volumes.

Rosa Chacel, a novelist, essayist, and memoirist, was a key female voice in Spanish letters and a member of the Sinsombrero group. The library will provide services including home lending, in-room consultation, internet access, and various reading promotion activities.
