Rosa León releases new album honoring María Elena Walsh
Singer Rosa León has released her new album, ‘Carta de amor a María Elena Walsh’, marking her first musical project in over twenty years. The album, produced by Alejo Stivel, features fourteen compositions by the late Argentine artist María Elena Walsh, exploring her work across poetry, literature, and social commentary.
To celebrate the release, León performed a presentation concert at the Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid. The event featured numerous high-profile collaborations, including performances or contributions from Joan Manuel Serrat, Ana Belén, Víctor Manuel, Miguel Ríos, Rozalén, and others.
The project concludes with the song ‘Palomas de ciudad’, a collaboration between León and Víctor Manuel. This reunion is notable as Manuel previously produced two of León’s fundamental works in the 1980s. The album aims to highlight the diverse and socially reflective dimensions of Walsh’s legacy beyond her well-known children's repertoire.
