Rosa Macías' cyanotype show opens at Museo Elisa Cendrero

The Museo Elisa Cendrero in Ciudad Real inaugurated the exhibition “El azul del siglo XIX,” a collection by artist Rosa Macías that revives the 19th‑century cyanotype process. The works use dry leaves and blue‑toned images created with chemicals sensitive to ultraviolet light, a technique first discovered by John Herschel around 1840 and famously employed by botanist Anna Atkins.

Cultural councilor Pedro Lozano attended the opening, noting that the show links the origins of photography with its digital evolution and urging especially young visitors to explore the history and beauty of the medium. The exhibition is now open to the public.
