Rosalía visits Mexico City for LUX Tour amid local shooting

Spanish singer Rosalía visited the La Lagunilla market in Mexico City as part of her LUX Tour 2026. During her visit, she interacted with fans and received gifts. However, hours after her departure, a shooting occurred in the area, causing panic among merchants and visitors.

Local authorities reported that a victim was assaulted and shot by four individuals. Following the incident, police detained six youths, including four adults and two minors. During the arrests, officers seized a short firearm and 50 bags of suspected marijuana. Authorities have not established a link between the artist and the subsequent violence.

In a separate aspect of her visit to Mexico City, Rosalía performed at the Palacio de los Deportes before an audience of over 16,000 people. During the concert, she paid tribute to the late Mexican singer Paquita la del Barrio, noting that her song ‘La Perla’ was influenced by the legacy of ‘Rata de dos patas’.
