Rosalía wins National Award for Contemporary Music
The Spanish Ministry of Culture has awarded the singer Rosalía the 2026 National Award for Contemporary Music for her latest musical project, ‘Lux’. The jury recognized the work as an “ambitious, innovative and transformative” proposal.
The album ‘Lux’ is noted for its artistic transcendence, incorporating 13 different languages, including Catalan and Spanish. The jury specifically highlighted the project’s contribution to the global projection of Spanish music and its ability to integrate various talents and collaborative processes. The work is described as a creative evolution that transcends genres and styles through a unique sonic language.
This award follows previous recognition for the artist, including winning eight categories at the Spanish Music Academy awards in May, such as Artist of the Year and Album of the Year.
