Rosamaria Montibeller sidelined by knee injury
Brazilian volleyball star Rosamaria Montibeller has been ruled out of the remainder of the South American Volleyball Championship due to a knee injury. The Confederação Brasileira de Voleibol (CBV) confirmed that the opposite hitter suffered a partial medial collateral ligament injury during Brazil's match against Colombia in Rio de Janeiro.
Rosamaria left the court early in the match, which Brazil won 3-0. Following medical examinations, she has begun physiotherapy treatment. The estimated recovery period is expected to be between three and six weeks.
Despite her absence, the Brazilian team maintained a 100% success rate in the tournament. Ana Cristina led the offensive effort in the victory over Colombia with 28 points.
