Rosaria Succurro elected president of Calabria's V Commission

Rosaria Succurro has been unanimously elected as the president of the V Permanent Commission of the Calabria Regional Council. The commission oversees strategic sectors including education, culture, museums, libraries, tourism, ports, and commerce.

Succurro, who was elected to the regional assembly in 2025 as part of the ‘Occhiuto Presidente’ list, previously served as the mayor of San Giovanni in Fiore and as the first female president of the Province of Cosenza.

In her inaugural address, Succurro emphasized the need for the region to leverage its human, cultural, and natural resources to build a better future. Her stated priorities include strengthening educational opportunities in inland areas, increasing accessibility to cultural sites, promoting regional tourism, and supporting local economic activities. She also highlighted the importance of the port system for Mediterranean connectivity and the necessity of creating opportunities for younger generations.
