Rosario, Argentina and Ecuador health reports identify leading medical issues

In Rosario and the surrounding industrial area, the health network Emerger recorded 54,055 medical consultations over the past year. Adults aged 15‑64 accounted for 48% of visits, with respiratory problems such as acute pharyngitis and bronchitis peaking in the winter months, while gastrointestinal disorders like gastroenteritis and dehydration increased in summer. Chronic conditions, notably hypertension, were also among the most frequent diagnoses. Dr. Alberto Davidovich, Emerger’s medical director, said the analysis helps anticipate epidemiological trends and plan preventive actions.

In Ecuador, health officials emphasize that chronic diseases now cause around 74% of deaths and generate high medical expenses for families. Early detection and healthy habits can cut hospitalisation costs, and pre‑paid medical insurance is promoted as a way to provide financial protection and access to preventive programmes. Carla Sevilla, general manager of Ecuasanitas, noted that preventive measures improve both health outcomes and economic stability for households.
