Rosario Dawson reveals cut cameo in Spider-Man: Brand New Day
Actress Rosario Dawson revealed during a fan Q&A at GalaxyCon Raleigh that her filmed cameo in ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ was cut from the final version of the film. Dawson, who portrays Claire Temple (also known as Night Nurse) in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, shared that the scene was intended to show her character helping Peter Parker in a hospital following a battle with the Scorpion.
Screenwriters Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers confirmed the scene was filmed but ultimately removed to manage the film's runtime and pacing. Despite the disappointment of the cut, Dawson expressed optimism about the future of her character, noting that since the MCU is interconnected, she hopes to return to the role of Claire Temple in future projects.
‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day,’ starring Tom Holland, has been a significant commercial success, reportedly earning over $1.6 billion at the global box office. Dawson humorously remarked on the situation, noting she had already prepared social media posts featuring behind-the-scenes photos of her grandson in Spider-Man attire before receiving notification that the footage would not be used.
