Rosario de Lerma provides free eyeglasses to students

The municipality of Rosario de Lerma has reported significant progress through its ‘Miradas con Futuro’ program, which provides free visual health services to primary school students. To date, more than 4,000 students have undergone visual screenings, resulting in 543 comprehensive ophthalmological studies.

As a direct result of these evaluations, 330 children have already received free eyeglasses. The initiative, conducted in partnership with local schools and the Saravia Olmos Foundation, aims to identify vision problems early to prevent educational inequality. Mayor Sergio Ramos stated that the program seeks to remove economic barriers that prevent families from accessing necessary eye care, ensuring students can clearly see the blackboard and engage effectively with their studies.
