Rosario hosts launch of graphic novel addressing media violence
The graphic novel ‘Escribir otra historia’ is being presented at the Biblioteca Argentina in Rosario. Edited by the Aguará collective, the work is written by Lía Basso and journalist Sonia Tessa, with illustrations by Jimena Esborraz.
The narrative details Basso’s survival of an attempted femicide and her subsequent struggle against media re-victimization. The project aims to advocate for gender-sensitive journalism and responsible reporting on gender-based violence. Following a legal process, the incident led to local media outlets implementing gender training and publishing rulings to ensure more respectful treatment of victims.
