Rosario implements new fines for license plate tampering and vaping restrictions

The city of Rosario has approved modifications to its Transit and Citizen Coexistence codes. The new regulations introduce fines ranging from 50 to 500 fixed units (UF) for vehicles found with missing, illegible, hidden, or tampered license plates. The highest penalties are reserved for the alteration of identifying characters or the use of mechanisms intended to obstruct reading. Repeat offenders may face disqualification.

Additionally, the updated ordinances expand restrictions on the sale and distribution of electronic cigarettes, vapes, and heated tobacco products to minors under 18, regardless of nicotine content. The measure also includes requirements for mandatory signage regarding these prohibitions and extends the rules to automated vending machines.
