Rosario launches Casa Grande shelter for vulnerable elderly men

The Municipality of Rosario is launching Casa Grande, a new transit shelter designed to support vulnerable elderly men in Argentina. Located in the Matheu neighborhood, the facility will accommodate up to 20 men over the age of 60 who lack pensions or social security coverage.

The initiative is part of the Plan Mil65, a municipal policy addressing vulnerability in early childhood and the elderly. Beyond providing housing, the center will offer workshops, training, a vegetable garden, and recreational activities such as adapted volleyball. The project aims to address rising indigence and social isolation among the city's approximately 40,000 elderly residents living alone.
