Rosario launches countdown clock for 2026 South American Games

On Sunday, Rosario activated the Portal Suramericano at the Monumento Nacional a la Bandera, lighting a three‑metre‑diameter clock to start a 40‑day countdown to the 2026 South American Games.

The games will be held from 12 to 26 September 2026 in Rosario, Santa Fe and Rafaela, involving roughly 4,000 athletes from 15 countries. The portal structure stands over eight metres tall, seven metres wide, and is designed to remain as a permanent symbol of the event.

She added that the event “no solo es un acontecimiento deportivo,” highlighting its long‑term legacy for regional sports infrastructure.
