Rosario launches guide for early childhood development
The Municipality of Rosario has launched a new guide titled ‘Mis primeros mil días’ (My first thousand days) to support families during the critical early stages of child development. The publication is designed to provide clear, accessible information for parents and caregivers regarding pregnancy control, breastfeeding, nutrition, sleep, and pediatric check-ups.
Mayor Pablo Javkin announced that the material will be distributed across both public and private maternity wards in the city as newborns are discharged. The initiative aims to reach the city's 39,221 children currently within this developmental window. The guide includes practical tools such as recipes, developmental calendars, and guidance on respectful parenting and emotional bonding.
Public Health Secretary Soledad Rodriguez noted that the book serves as a resource for tracking milestones, including weight, height, and language development. The program is part of the local ‘Plan Mil65’ and seeks to reinforce the support provided by municipal and provincial health teams to ensure a protected start for all children in Rosario.
