Rosario Livatino miniseries to debut at Rome Film Fest

A new Rai miniseries titled ‘Livatino. Il giudice e i suoi assassini’, directed by Michele Placido, is set to premiere at the 21st Rome Film Fest in October 2026. The production explores the life and career of Judge Rosario Livatino, focusing on his investigations into organized crime and the economic interests of criminal groups like the Stidda during the 1980s. The narrative follows his work until his assassination on September 21, 1990.

In Brolo, commemorations will also be held to mark the 36th anniversary of Livatino's death. Organized by the Raggio di Sole Association, the event includes a dialogue with students and the presentation of the ‘Accendiamo i colori della legalità’ graphic and pictorial competition. The initiative aims to honor Livatino’s legacy of integrity and courage in the face of violence.
