Rosario municipality launches human‑rights workshops for schools

The Municipality of Rosario (Argentina) has opened enrollment for a series of free, year‑long workshops on human‑rights education aimed at public and private primary and secondary schools. The program, coordinated by the municipal Directorate General of Human Rights within the Secretariat of Equality, Gender and Human Rights, targets students from upper primary to upper secondary levels and focuses on racism, collective memory, identity and democracy.

Participating schools must register through a teacher or school leader, after which the workshops are delivered on‑site. Activities include video screenings, poetry sessions, cultural productions and discussions guided by anthropologists Manuela Rodríguez, María Cecilia Picech and Malena Oneglia. The initiative seeks to strengthen democratic citizenship, critical thinking and respect for diversity in the classroom.

The municipal government frames the effort as part of a sustained policy to embed human‑rights perspectives in education and to prevent discrimination and violence within schools.
