Rosario Murillo highlights religious traditions and defends Fidel Castro monument

Nicaraguan Co-President Rosario Murillo has addressed both religious traditions and political controversies. She highlighted the recent religious procession of Santo Domingo de Guzmán, noting the large number of families who participated in the traditional procession from Managua to Las Sierritas. Murillo described the event as a reflection of the nation's faith, culture, and identity.

Separately, Murillo criticized individuals who have voiced opposition to a planned government monument honoring the late Cuban leader Fidel Castro. The proposed 13-meter metal sculpture, intended to mark the centenary of Castro's birth, will be located in Managua along the ‘De Bolívar a Chávez’ promenade. Murillo referred to critics of the monument as ‘traitors’ and ‘cowards’ through official media channels.
