The Argentine Police of Investigations (PDI) detained Uriel F., known as “Yaka”, in Rosario after several months of surveillance and field work. He was wanted in four cases handled by the Unit of Highly Damaging Violence, including the murder of former prefect Juan Carlos Baini, 57, who was shot while working as a rides‑hailing driver on 14 March 2026, an attempted homicide and two weapons‑abuse charges.
The operation took place at a residence on Batlle y Ordóñez 1700 in the Las Delicias neighbourhood, with support from Santa Fe police units. Authorities also seized the suspect’s vehicle and three mobile phones for forensic analysis. The investigation continues under prosecutors Laura Riccardo, Alejandro Ferlazzo, Marisol Eiris and Franco Tassini.
