Rosario to host Turismo Carretera race after seven‑year hiatus

The Autódromo Ciudad de Rosario will stage a Turismo Carretera (TC) event on 25 October 2026, the third round of the season‑ending Copa de Oro that determines the 2026 champion. It marks the series' return to the circuit after a seven‑year gap; the last TC race in Rosario was in 2019 when Matías Rossi won in rain before a crowd of more than 40,000.

Ahead of the race, the venue underwent extensive upgrades, including a new layer of asphalt, a 4‑hectare expansion of the pit lane, a 250‑metre concrete wall on the main straight and an enlarged leca surface to meet safety and operational standards for the TC and its support series, TC Pista, which together field around 70 cars. Organisers emphasise the economic boost expected from thousands of visitors, teams, sponsors and media, and the event’s role in reaffirming Rosario as a national‑level motorsport host.

Some observers note that recent TC races, such as the one in Rafaela, have struggled to deliver overtaking action, raising questions about the spectacle the Rosario venue will provide despite the upgraded facilities.
