Rosarito begins restoration of Abelardo L. Rodríguez Park green areas

The Rosarito City Council has launched works to restore the green areas of Abelardo L. Rodríguez Park. The project is being carried out by the Secretariat of the Environment and the Secretariat of Urban Development and Services, with support from the Municipal DIF.

Due to the absence of an irrigation system and water connections in the newly constructed areas, the project faces logistical challenges. To avoid compromising the three-year warranty on the original SEDATU construction, workers will use hoses to manually hydrate the plants.

To adapt to these limitations, the restoration will focus on planting local, low-water-consumption species such as Agaves, Majaguas, and Chinese Star Anise. Additionally, Myoporum will be used on slopes to prevent erosion, as these plants can survive on sea breezes.
