Rosatom to continue nuclear power projects in Iran
Rosatom CEO Alexei Likhachev has announced that Russia’s state-owned nuclear energy corporation will continue its nuclear power projects in Iran despite increasing international sanctions and restrictions.
The company is currently involved in the construction of the second and third units at the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant. Furthermore, recent agreements include plans for the construction of four advanced third-generation nuclear power units in Sirik, Hormozgan Province, a project with a reported value of $25 billion.
Likhachev noted that Rosatom is also managing nuclear projects in several other nations, including Egypt, Hungary, and India, while preparing to commission plants in Turkey, Bangladesh, and China. New construction projects are also being launched in Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
