Rose Cay and Haynes Cay authorities evaluate new tourism regulations

Authorities in the archipelago are evaluating new measures to regulate tourism activities in Rose Cay and Haynes Cay. The Departmental Administration is analyzing alternatives to organize operations and mitigate environmental impacts in these natural spaces.

One proposed measure involves limiting the entry of food and igloos by visitors to reduce the volume of waste generated. The goal is to encourage consumption at authorized tourist establishments. However, the Secretary of Security and Citizen Coexistence, Carlos Alberto Bryan, stated that regulations will not be established without first consulting service providers to reach viable agreements.

The initiative includes a pilot plan for the pedestrian zone, Rose Cay, and Haynes Cay to evaluate different operational mechanisms. Additionally, the administration plans to hold working groups with businesses and implement training programs in coordination with the Chamber of Commerce to strengthen service capacities and improve organization.
