Rose McIver announces second child and absence from ‘Ghosts’

Actress Rose McIver has announced the birth of her second child with husband George Byrne. The 37-year-old star of the CBS comedy series ‘Ghosts’ shared the news via Instagram, explaining her temporary absence from the beginning of the show’s new season.

McIver noted that viewers might have noticed her character, Samantha Arondekar, was missing from early episodes, stating she had been ‘a wee bit preoccupied’ but intends to return to the series soon. The couple previously welcomed a daughter in 2024.

During her first pregnancy, the production of ‘Ghosts’ used costumes and set pieces to conceal McIver’s pregnancy rather than incorporating it into the storyline. Showrunners have indicated that while the characters Sam and Jay are not currently having children in the script, they remain open to the possibility in future seasons.
