Italian growers recommend using semi‑woody stem cuttings to multiply rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis) quickly. Cuttings taken in spring, 7–12 cm long, root within 60–90 days, producing plants identical to the mother and saving costs.

For indoor cultivation, the most common error is keeping the soil constantly wet. Rosemary thrives on a cycle of wet and dry conditions; over‑watering suffocates roots and encourages rot. Experts advise using porous terracotta pots, a well‑draining mix of compost, perlite or pomice, and watering only until water drains, then allowing the soil to dry before the next watering. Adequate sunlight—at least six hours daily—or supplemental LED lighting is also essential.
