Rosenheim-Cops cast changes ahead of 25th anniversary

The long-running ZDF crime series ‘Rosenheim-Cops’ is undergoing significant cast changes as it approaches its 25th anniversary in early 2027. Longtime actress Marisa Burger, who has played police secretary Miriam Stockl since 2000, will depart the series. Following her final episode, scheduled for broadcast on November 24, Sarah Thonig will take over the role as Christin Lange.

Other notable departures include Christian K. Schaeffer, who played the restaurateur Jo Caspar, and Isabel Mergl. Producer Marlis Moosauer addressed recent criticisms from Marisa Burger regarding budget cuts and compensation, stating that the changes are driven by ‘personal and dramaturgical reasons’ intended to ‘create space for new things’ while maintaining the show’s essence.

New characters will be introduced to fill the gaps, including Maya Haddad as Yasmin Rabe, who will manage a new daily bar. The 26th season features new investigations, including a case involving a tiny-house murder, and will be available for streaming starting September 29, with television broadcasts beginning October 6.
