Rosenheim-Cops marks 25 years amid cast and set changes
The long-running German crime series ‘Rosenheim-Cops’ is celebrating its 25th anniversary while undergoing significant cast and structural changes. While actress Karin Thaler, who plays Marie Hofer, intends to remain with the series, describing her role as a ‘life's work’ that provides professional security, several other long-term cast members are departing.
Marisa Burger (Frau Stockl), Alexander Duda (Polizeidirektor Achtziger), and Christian K. Schaeffer (Ignaz ‘Jo’ Casper) are all leaving the production. The departure of Schaeffer also signals the end of the series' long-standing local hangout, the ‘Times Square’ bar.
To modernize the setting, the production is introducing a new meeting point called ‘Das Rosi,’ which will be run by character Yasmin Rabe, played by Maya Haddad. Producer Marlis Moosauer stated that the change allows the series to evolve while remaining within its established conceptual framework.
