Roses and Tarragona enhance beach safety and public services
In the coastal town of Roses, municipal councilor Lluís Espada announced a new shade structure on the Rambla Riera Ginjolers, extended lifeguard season to four months and added accessible beach equipment, such as amphibian chairs and assisted‑bath facilities. Espada said the shade “creates a feeling of comfort and freshness” and highlighted the record social‑media engagement for the project.
Separately, the Catalan Department of Interior authorised the use of surveillance drones over the rocky sections of Tarragona’s beach after three minors were injured. Interior minister Núria Parlon stressed the need for updated regulations, noting that “all this is being discussed in the working group” and linked the measure to the “A l’aigua, fem equip” water‑safety campaign aimed at preventing drownings.
