Roseto degli Abruzzi hosts first Italian Paralympic slingshot championship

The first Italian Paralympic Championship for slingshot shooting and ancient manesca crossbow took place at the Villaggio Lido d’Abruzzo in Roseto degli Abruzzi. Organized by Asd La Fionda Floriano of Campli, the event was held in collaboration with the Federazione Italiana Giochi e Sport Tradizionali (FIGeST) and the Comitato Italiano Paralimpico (CIP).

The competition was specifically designed for athletes with visual impairments, blindness, and physical or intellectual disabilities. Participants competed at a distance of 10 meters. To support accessibility, organizers utilized an advanced acoustic-technological aiming tool developed to ensure independence for visually impaired athletes.

In addition to the competitive matches, the event included a conference on sports inclusion led by Vittorio Beltramba. The championship was the result of technical work by Roberto Giudici, Giuseppe Volpi, and Danilo Serdini.
