Roseville police arrest teenager for murder of Cherie Dodge
A 15-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the fatal stabbing of 57-year-old Cherie Dodge in downtown Roseville, California. The incident occurred around 1 a.m. on October 14 near the intersection of Atlantic Street and South Grant Street.
Roseville Police Department investigators identified a person of interest and obtained a search warrant for a residence in the 100 block of Buckley Court. The Roseville/Rocklin regional SWAT team assisted in serving the warrant, leading to the apprehension of the teenager, who was subsequently booked into Placer County Juvenile Hall on a murder charge. Police stated there are no other suspects and that the victim and the alleged attacker did not appear to know each other.
Cherie Dodge had lived in Roseville for approximately 40 years. Her son, Carlos Brandt, noted that while she had recently been living on the streets due to an undiagnosed mental health disorder, she remained supported by her family. Dodge is survived by five children, ten grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
