Rosie O’Donnell shares update on daughter Chelsea’s prison term

Comedian Rosie O’Donnell has shared updates regarding her relationship with her daughter, Chelsea O’Donnell, who is currently serving an 18-month sentence at the Taycheedah Correctional Institution in Wisconsin. The sentence follows the revocation of Chelsea’s probation last October after a series of arrests in 2024.

O’Donnell recently posted about their efforts to rebuild their bond, noting that they re-established contact in June after approximately ten years of estrangement. The comedian shared photos of a prison visit and screenshots of text messages showing the pair communicating about daily life and Chelsea’s plans for when she is released.

Chelsea’s history includes various legal and personal challenges. In previous years, she faced issues related to mental illness and ran away from home, and more recently, O’Donnell addressed Chelsea’s struggles with drug addiction following arrests in late 2024.
