Rosignano Marittimo: Stray cat seeks home after surviving air rifle shooting

A five-month-old stray cat in Rosignano Marittimo survived after being shot with an air rifle. The animal was struck by two pellets, one of which was located near its heart.

Following the incident, medical examinations revealed that the cat is also positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). Due to the combination of its physical injuries and the need for a controlled environment to manage its health condition, an urgent appeal has been launched on social media to find a permanent home.

Advocates are seeking a responsible adoption, suggesting the cat could live as an only pet or with other FIV-positive cats. While the incident has caused significant public indignation, there are currently no official confirmations regarding the specific dynamics of the shooting or the identification of the person responsible.
