Rositsa Dencheva secures doubles title and singles runner-up finish in Serbia
Bulgarian tennis player Rositsa Dencheva achieved significant success at a clay court tournament in Kuršumlijska Banja, Serbia, featuring a $60,000 prize pool. The 19-year-old secured the doubles title alongside partner Varvara Panshina, defeating China's Shuai Feng and Zongyu Li with a score of 6:4, 7:5.
In the singles final, Dencheva finished as runner-up after a hard-fought match against Serbia's Mia Ristic. Despite losing the first set 0:6, Dencheva rallied in the second set to force a tiebreak, ultimately falling 0:6, 6:7(4) in a match lasting 1 hour and 38 minutes.
Following this performance, which included a nine-match winning streak in singles, Dencheva is set to rise to world number 305 in the WTA rankings and will become Bulgaria's second-ranked female tennis player.
