Ross Smith wins Hungarian Darts Trophy in Budapest

Ross Smith secured his second European Tour title of 2026 by winning the Hungarian Darts Trophy in Budapest. The 37-year-old Englishman delivered a dominant performance at the MVM Dome, defeating two-time world champion Gary Anderson 8-2 in the final.

Smith maintained a high level of play throughout the tournament, recording a 101 average and a 73% checkout success rate in the championship match. His path to the title included victories over William O’Connor (6-2), Jonny Clayton (6-4), Dave Chisnall (6-2), and Danny Noppert (7-3).

Gary Anderson reached the final after a series of closely contested matches, including a 7-6 victory over Nathan Aspinall in the semi-finals. Despite the loss, Anderson’s performance bolstered his chances for the European Championship. The event drew a record-breaking crowd of nearly 6,000 fans to the MVM Dome.
