Rossini Opera Festival features ‘Le siège de Corinthe’ and Belcanto concerts
The Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro features several performances, including the production of ‘Le siège de Corinthe’ directed by Davide Livermore and conducted by Carlo Rizzi. This opera, which marks Rossini’s first major foray into French theater, depicts the fall of Corinth to Ottoman troops and the tragic romance between Pamyra and Maometto.
Other scheduled events include Belcanto concerts at the Rossini National Museum featuring Aziza Omarova, Enrico Basso, and Keisuke Onoda, as well as a Belcanto concert at the Teatro Rossini starring tenor Dave Monaco. The festival also includes a celebration of the 30th anniversary of Juan Diego Flórez’s Pesaro debut, titled ‘Flórez 30’, featuring the Orchestra del Teatro Comunale di Bologna.
