Rossini works featured in Italian musical productions
Gioachino Rossini’s musical legacy is being celebrated through two distinct events in Italy. In Viterbo, the Teatro dell’Unione will host a production of “Il Barbiere di Siviglia” on November 7 and 8. The production, led by Maria Chiara Camponeschi, features an orchestra including local musicians and was presented by local officials, including Mayor Chiara Frontini and Culture Councilor Alfonso Antoniozzi.
In Pesaro, the Ente Concerti is launching its 67th season at the Teatro Rossini on November 8 with “Il Salotto di Rossini.” This concert focuses on Rossini’s piano works and serves as the culmination of a European Erasmus+ BIP project. The project brought together 34 young pianists from institutions in Italy, France, Austria, Belgium, and Bulgaria. These participants are currently recording an integral version of “Péchés de vieillesse” for international distribution by Brilliant Classics.
