Rossmann recalls apple fruit chips for children over Salmonella risk

German drugstore chain Rossmann has withdrawn the 35‑gram "Genuss Plus Kids Fruchtchips Apfel" apple fruit chips for children after internal quality tests detected Salmonella bacteria. The recall applies to batch C110862 MA (EAN 4068134196903) with a best‑before date of 24 February 2027. The product was sold in all German federal states and may have reached consumers in Poland through cross‑border shopping or online orders.

Rossmann and the German consumer‑warning system Lebensmittelwarnung issued the alert on 29 July 2026, urging customers not to feed the chips to children, to keep the packages out of their reach, and to return the items to any Rossmann store without a receipt. Health authorities note that salmonellosis can cause diarrhoea, fever, abdominal pain and is especially dangerous for infants, the elderly and immunocompromised persons.
