Rostec launches IGLA modular rifle system for hunting and sports

The Russian state technology corporation Rostec has launched the IGLA, a modular rifle system designed for hunting and sports. Developed entirely within Russia using domestic components, the system is intended to replace foreign imported rifles that are currently unavailable in the country due to sanctions.

The IGLA system includes a modular rifle and five different types of .308 Win (7.62×51mm) ammunition. It is available in two configurations: a heavy-barreled sports version for maximum stability and a lighter-barreled hunting version designed for field maneuverability. The ammunition range includes SP 150, Shakal 141, Shakal 160, and Rocket 116 for hunting, as well as Match 160 for sports shooting.

Rostec representatives stated that the system provides a unified ecosystem where the weapon and ammunition are developed together to ensure high performance. The rifle has demonstrated high precision, achieving an accuracy of 0.5 MOA at 100 meters when using Rocket high-speed ammunition.
